About Suceava

Suceava, which is located in the northeast of Romania, is the largest city of the Bukovina region. The population of the city is about 105 thousand. The highest percentage living in the city belongs to Romanians and they are followed by Roma, Germans and Ukrainians.

Suceava, which was the capital for the Principality of Moldavia for many years in the history, was occupied by Mehmed the Conqueror and brought the past to the present thanks to many historical remains and buildings such as castles and fortresses. In addition to the historical buildings, we can visit the museums and see the parts remaining from history. The parks of the city which has many churches and monasteries are also worth seeing. The most important university in the city is Ştefan cel Mare University which was founded in 1990 and there are also 4 more universities that are important in the city. In universities, generally mathematics, linguistics, economics and social sciences are taught. Suceava Ştefan cel Mare Airport, which is the only airport in the city and located 12 km of the city center, is also known as Salcea Airport.
