About Maringa
Maringa is located in the Parana Province of Brazil. The name of the city comes from a song composed by the singer Joubert de Carvalho in the honor of his great love to Maria do Ingá. Since the establishment of the city was in the same period in which the song was very popular, the city took its name from the song and it was later shortened to Maringa in the course of time.
Maringa, located on the Tropic of Capricorn, is under the effect of humid subtropical climate. In June, July and August, the coldest period of the year, the temperature is measured around 17 degrees. Between November and March this value increases to 24 degrees. The most arid period of the city, which receives rainfall all year long, is July and August.
