Transportation to Airport from London City Center

London City Airport

You can use the transportation options such as taxi, train, or car rental services from London City Airport to the London City center. 

Metro

You can use the metro from 5.30 am to midnight as the London Underground has an advanced transportation network. You can reach London City Airport directly from the city center with the metro, which ticket prices ranging from £4.80 to £6.

Bus 

Bus lines in the city center provide transportation to almost every region. The busses also operate at night, so if you consider a bus, you can transfer easily from the airport to the city center. The busses depart from the terminal every 20 minutes and pricing ranges from £5 to £8.

Train

You can take trains directly to the London City Airport from train stations in the city center. Ticket fares range from £5- £10 and there are train passes called Oysters. 

Rental Cars

Keep in mind it takes over an hour to reach the airport.

If you want to get to the airport from the city center in 15 minutes then get on the Heathrow Express train at Paddington train station. The Heathrow Connect Trains depart from the same place and take about 30 minutes. National Express buses at the Victoria bus stop are another option. Those buses take between 40 and 80 minutes depending on the traffic.

Luton Airport

The Thameslink and East Midlands trains are the fastest modes of transportation to get to the airport from the city center. Those who are more concerned about the fare than the time it takes can use the Easybus, Greenline 757 or National Express buses. The airport is also accessible by taxi or rental car.

Transportation to Dublin City Center from Airport

Dublin Airport

Metro

It is possible to get to Parnell Square and O'Connell in the city center by the metro line called "Northern Metro" from the airport.

The metro which departs from the ground floor of the airport terminals reaches the station in Parnell Square and O’Connell/Abbey St. stations in O'Connell in half an hour. The buses departing from the Parnell Square, which is a big park, provide transportation service to all parts of the city as well as they offer transfer option to the rail system lines, especially to the south and east lines, through the metro stations.

Airport Buses

Dublin Airport, which is the most important airport in the Republic of Ireland, is also the busiest airport in Ireland together with Belfast Airport. Both airports serve the people on the entire island and the buses carry passengers between the airport and the various regions. The private shuttle buses of Air Link and Air Coach companies provide transportation service between the airport and Dublin city center.

Buses depart every 15 or 30 minutes. The buses of both companies go up to O'Connell.

City Buses

It is also possible to reach the city center from the airport by city buses. You can get to Parnell Square in 25 minutes by bus number 747, which departs every 20 minutes from the airport.

In addition, the buses 16, 16C, 33, 41 and 41C departing from the airport will also take you to various points at Parnell Square.

Taxi

It takes about 20 minutes to reach O'Connell in the city center by taxi departing from the gates of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.

Rent a car

There are 8 car rental offices at the airport. You can rent a car from these car rental offices, three of which operate on pre-booking system. Once you rent a car, all you need to do is to take the Swords Road to reach the city center. Then you should drive through the Coolock road and take the "City Center – Dublin Port" turning and head to Parnell Square. This road will lead you directly to O'Connell.
